Who can take part
- Ages 13–18 and physically developed to Tanner stage 4–5
- NAFLD confirmed recently (within 6 months) by FibroScan or liver biopsy, and liver fat on MRI greater than 5.5%
- Overweight/obese based on BMI (at or above the 85th percentile for age and gender)
- You are mostly inactive (less than 3 hours per week of moderate exercise)
- No excluded medicines in recent days, including metformin, certain steroids, some psychiatric medicines, or HIV medicines
