Who can take part

  • You have Type 1 diabetes and are between 18 and 70 years old
  • You can read and understand English well enough for study instructions
  • You are starting one of these for clinical reasons: an artificial pancreas, an insulin pump, or multiple daily insulin shots
  • You must not have eye or cornea problems that could affect the cornea (the clear front part of the eye)
  • You must not have certain recent eye injuries or infections/inflammation, or specific non-diabetes causes of nerve damage
