Dual-focus contacts to slow worsening near-sightedness

This study tests whether dual-focus soft contact lenses can help slow how quickly myopia (near-sightedness) gets worse in young university students. You may be assigned either the dual-focus lens or a control lens, and you would need to wear the lenses most days for set hours.

Who can take part

  • You are a university student with near-sightedness (myopia).
  • You are 18–21 years old when the study starts.
  • Your eyesight history shows recent worsening of myopia before the main study stage.
  • You can and agree to wear the study contact lenses at least 10 hours per day, 6 days per week.
  • You are willing to accept whichever lens you are randomly assigned (no choosing which one).
  • Your eye measurements are good enough to join: vision must be +0.10 logMAR or better in both eyes.
