Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old
  • You are scheduled for planned, non-heart surgery expected to last at least 60 minutes
  • Your overall heart and circulation health is fairly good (ASA I–II)
  • You must not have certain unstable heart conditions (like uncontrolled high blood pressure or slow heart rhythms)
  • You must not have significant liver or kidney problems, or certain brain/nerve or hormone conditions
