Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • Your doctor plans to do a kidney stone removal surgery called 'mini-PCNL' while you are lying on your stomach
  • The main kidney stone is between 10 and 25 mm (about the size of a pea to a grape)
  • You have had a CT scan showing your kidney stones before the surgery
  • You are not taking blood thinners and do not have a bleeding disorder
  • You do not have a birth defect in your kidneys or had previous surgery on the same side of your urinary tract
