Who can take part
- You have advanced stomach or gastroesophageal junction cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.
- You have tried at least two prior cancer treatments, including a PD-1 inhibitor (like nivolumab, pembrolizumab, etc.), and the cancer got worse, or you had severe side effects that kept you from continuing.
- You have at least one tumor that can be measured on a CT scan and is large enough (more than 1.5 cm) to be injected with the study drug under ultrasound guidance.
- You have evidence of a past herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) infection (a positive antibody test), which is very common (most adults have it).
- You are in fairly good physical condition (ECOG 0 or 1) and have adequate organ function (kidney, liver, blood counts).
- You agree to use effective birth control during the study and for at least 90 days after the last dose, if you or your partner could become pregnant.
