Who can take part
- You have advanced liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma) confirmed by biopsy or cytology.
- You have tried at least one prior treatment for liver cancer that either didn't work or became ineffective.
- You have at least one tumor that can be measured on a CT scan and is large enough (over 1.5 cm) to be injected with the study drug under ultrasound guidance.
- You have a positive test result for herpes simplex virus antibodies (HSV-1 IgG or IgM), meaning you have been exposed to the virus before.
- Your liver function is relatively good (Child-Pugh score of A or better B) and your overall health status is good (ECOG 0-1).
