Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have rectal adenocarcinoma (confirmed by biopsy).
  • Your cancer is locally advanced (spread into nearby tissue or lymph nodes) but hasn't spread to distant organs.
  • You are in good general health (able to care for yourself and do light activities).
  • Your major organs (blood, liver, kidneys) are working well, based on recent lab tests.
  • You have not received a PD-1 inhibitor before (a type of immunotherapy).
