Who can take part

  • Your child is having a blood culture done as part of their regular care, or had one in the last 3 days.
  • Your child is not diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, hemophagocytic syndrome, or a severe viral infection causing whole-body inflammation.
  • If your child is a newborn, they do not have a confirmed congenital infection (like toxoplasmosis, rubella, or herpes).
  • There is no other clear, non-infection cause for your child's illness.
