- You are 18 years old or older.
- You are currently receiving citrate anticoagulation (a blood thinner used during dialysis).
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You do not have a known allergy to citrate anticoagulants.
- You do not have severe liver problems (bilirubin more than twice normal).
- You do not have very low oxygen levels, very low blood pressure, high lactate levels, high sodium, or a hospital stay shorter than 48 hours.
