This trial compares two pacing methods (LBBAP vs RVP) in people with heart block who need a pacemaker. It looks at whether one method reduces the chance of developing atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat). To join, you must have a specific type of heart block, never had atrial fibrillation, and have a healthy pumping heart.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 85 years old.
  • You have a type of heart block that needs a pacemaker, with at least 40% pacing expected.
  • You have never been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat).
  • Your heart’s pumping ability (ejection fraction) is 50% or higher.
  • You don’t need any major heart surgery in the next year.
  • You agree to be followed for 2 years and can come back for checkups.
