Who can take part

  • You have a condition called AV block, which means the electrical signal between the upper and lower chambers of your heart is delayed or blocked.
  • You may have a normal heart rhythm or a fast, irregular rhythm (atrial fibrillation).
  • You are willing to sign a consent form to participate.
  • You do not already have an implanted defibrillator (ICD) or heart resynchronization device (CRT).
  • Your heart's pumping strength (ejection fraction) is above 35%.
  • You are expected to live at least 2 more years and are not in another trial that could affect this one.
