Who can take part

  • Diagnosed with major depression and have low motivation or loss of interest
  • Score high on standard depression and apathy rating scales
  • Currently taking only a type of antidepressant called an SSRI (like fluoxetine or sertraline)
  • Between 18 and 60 years old, with at least 6 years of education
  • Right-handed, normal vision, and no prior brain stimulation treatments
  • No history of seizures, head injury, neurological disorders, or metal implants in the head
