Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 55 years old.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18.5 and 30.
  • You currently have a major depressive episode (a severe period of depression).
  • You do not have a history of brain injury, epilepsy, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, severe substance use disorder (except tobacco), heart disease, or stroke.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you can have an MRI scan (no metal implants, no claustrophobia).
