Who can take part

  • You are an adult woman
  • You have been pregnant at some point in your life
  • You have a skin ulcer caused by vein problems, diabetes, sickle cell disease, or a mix of these
  • Or you are a healthy woman without skin ulcers and similar age to the patients
  • You are willing to give blood and saliva samples
  • You are not currently taking medicines that weaken your immune system
