Who can take part

  • Must be under 18 years old (any age from birth to 17 years and 364 days)
  • Waiting for their very first heart transplant
  • Listed on the official waiting list for a donor heart
  • Patient or their legal guardian must understand the study and sign a consent form
  • Cannot have taken part in another research study within the past 30 days
  • Must not have a failing Fontan circulation or have had a multiorgan transplant
