Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 85 years old.
  • You have knee osteoarthritis and are scheduled for a first-time total knee replacement on one knee.
  • You have not used opioid pain medicine (other than tramadol or codeine) weekly in the past month.
  • You do not have a serious, unstable mental health condition (like schizophrenia or psychosis).
  • You have not had surgery on that knee in the past 6 months, and you haven't already had a knee replacement on that knee.
