  • You are between 18 and 100 years old
  • You are having your first total knee replacement (not a repeat surgery)
  • You are in good enough health to be classified as ASA I, II, or III (a standard rating system)
  • You are fully awake and alert (Glasgow Coma Scale score of 15)
  • You can understand the study and give your consent
  • You are able to cooperate during the pre-surgery check-up
