This study tests whether a home-based exercise program before surgery can help improve physical function in people with bladder or upper tract urothelial cancer. If you are planning to have surgery to remove your bladder or upper urinary tract, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • Able to speak and read English
  • Planned surgery to remove bladder or upper urinary tract (cystectomy or nephroureterectomy/ureterectomy) at the University of Washington Medical Center
  • Willing and able to do home exercises for at least 4 weeks before surgery
  • Have access to an Android or iOS smartphone or tablet to use the exercise app
  • No major cognitive or memory problems that would make it hard to follow exercise instructions
