Who can take part

  • You must have a confirmed HIV-1 infection.
  • You must never have taken HIV medications before (be ART-naive).
  • You must be older than 18 years.
  • After starting HIV treatment, your viral load must become undetectable within 6 months.
  • You must have had a drug resistance test (genotype) before starting treatment.
  • You cannot have blood cancer or be using chemotherapy or other drugs that suppress the immune system or bone marrow.
