Nerve testing in people with PIEZO2 gene changes

PIEZO2-Deficiency Syndrome

Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older
  • You must be enrolled in the main NIH pain study (16-AT-0077)
  • Either you have a confirmed PIEZO2 gene mutation causing sensory problems, OR you are a healthy volunteer
  • You cannot have chronic pain or be on nerve pain medication in the past year
  • You cannot have major health issues like diabetes, epilepsy, or a history of fainting
