Who can take part

  • You have a BMI of 30 or higher.
  • You have insulin resistance or prediabetes (blood sugar or insulin levels are higher than normal).
  • Your weight has been stable for the past 3 months (no big changes).
  • If you are a woman, you have not had a period for at least one year (postmenopausal).
  • You are not taking any medications except those for conditions like high blood pressure or high cholesterol.
  • You do not have any medical condition that could interfere with the study, such as a psychiatric disorder, eating disorder, or allergies to common foods like soy, eggs, milk, or peanuts.
