Who can take part

  • You are between 40 and 70 years old
  • You either have knee osteoarthritis (grade 2 or 3) or you have no knee pain, injury, or surgery history (healthy volunteer)
  • You do not have a body mass index (BMI) over 35, and your body fits inside an MRI scanner
  • You do not have severe knee misalignment (bowleg or knock-knee)
  • You have no metal implants or other reasons that prevent MRI, are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and are not in another drug trial
