  • You are older than 30 years.
  • You have pain in one or both knees.
  • You have symptoms of knee osteoarthritis.
  • You are not a woman who could become pregnant and have an inflammatory joint disease like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus.
  • You do not have kidney failure.
  • You have not had major knee injury or surgery.
