- You are a woman of childbearing age

- You have high blood pressure (before or during pregnancy)
- You have had preeclampsia, eclampsia, or HELLP syndrome
- You have had multiple miscarriages, or a baby with low birth weight or slow growth
- You are not male or past menopause
