- You have pancreatic cancer confirmed by a biopsy or cell sample.
- You were diagnosed with pancreatic cancer within the last 6 months and plan to start or continue active treatment.
- You have a blockage in the lower stomach or first part of the small intestine (duodenum) caused by the cancer.
- You are a candidate for either a stent, an endoscopic bypass, or a surgical bypass to relieve the blockage.
- You have not had any prior treatment for this blockage (like a stent or bypass).
- You have not had another procedure for bile duct drainage that could increase risk (unless done safely at least 1 day or 1 month before).
