Magnetic brain stimulation for headaches after a concussion

This study tests whether a non-invasive magnetic pulse treatment (repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation) can help people with long-lasting headaches following a mild concussion. If you are 18 to 55 years old and have had daily headaches for at least 3 months after your head injury, this study may help find a new way to relieve your pain.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 55 years old
  • You had a mild concussion (brief loss of consciousness less than 30 minutes, or confusion for up to 24 hours)
  • Headaches started within 7 days of your head injury and have lasted at least 3 months
  • You have headaches rated 3 or higher on a 0-10 scale on at least 3 days every week
  • You do not have a history of chronic headaches (like migraines or tension headaches) before the concussion
  • You do not have metal implants in your head, a history of seizures, or take medications for other brain conditions
