Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) confirmed by an ECG or Holter monitor.
  • An ultrasound of your heart (transesophageal echocardiogram) shows a clot inside your heart.
  • You have not taken any blood thinners for this clot yet.
  • You do not have heart valve disease or other conditions that increase bleeding risk.
