Who can take part

  • You are a patient at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine clinic.
  • You are 21 years or older.
  • You have been told you are at high or extreme risk for cavities (tooth decay).
  • You have at least two early cavities on smooth tooth surfaces and at least one cavity that has already formed a hole.
  • You do not smoke regular cigarettes or use smokeless tobacco.
  • You have had dental x-rays taken within the last 6 months.
