Who can take part

  • You have been chosen by your doctor to receive endobronchial valves (tiny valves placed in your airways) to treat your emphysema.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form to participate in the study.
  • You do not have a muscle or nerve disease that affects your diaphragm (the main breathing muscle).
  • You do not have fluid buildup around your lungs at the time of the ultrasound before or 90 days after the procedure.
