Gut bacteria and CDK4/6 inhibitor treatment in breast cancer

Who can take part

  • You have hormone receptor-positive (HR+), HER2-negative breast cancer that has spread or is at high risk of coming back.
  • You are about to start a CDK4/6 inhibitor combined with hormone therapy as your first treatment for advanced cancer, or as an additional treatment after surgery for early cancer at high risk.
  • You are 18 years or older and can provide a sample of your tumor tissue (or that tissue is already available).
  • You have not started the CDK4/6 inhibitor yet, and you have not taken oral or IV antibiotics in the last month.
  • You do not have HIV, hepatitis C, active hepatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, or a malabsorption condition, and you drink less than 3 glasses of alcohol per day.
