Fear of Cancer Recurrence

This study tests two online programs—Emotional Freedom Techniques (tapping) and mindfulness meditation—to help cancer survivors reduce fear of their cancer coming back. You may join if you finished cancer treatment within the last 5 years and have significant worry about recurrence.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older
  • You had any type of cancer (solid tumor or blood cancer) and finished your main treatments (surgery, chemo, radiation, etc.) at least 2 months ago, but no more than 5 years ago
  • Your cancer is currently gone (no signs of active disease)
  • You often worry a lot about your cancer coming back (scored high on a fear-of-recurrence questionnaire)
  • You are able to speak and read Dutch
  • You are not currently doing EFT (tapping) or mindfulness meditation regularly
