Foot implant plus standard surgery for flatfoot

This study tests whether placing a small implant in the sinus tarsi (a space in the side of the foot) during a standard flatfoot surgery helps improve the results. It's for adults with stage II adult acquired flatfoot deformity who have not improved with conservative care.

Who can take part

  • You are between 16 and 75 years old.
  • You have stage II adult acquired flatfoot deformity (a specific type of flatfoot that developed in adulthood) and your surgeon thinks your foot needs a certain type of bone realignment.
  • You have tried at least 3 months of non-surgical treatments (like physical therapy) without enough improvement.
  • You have not had surgery on the same foot for flatfoot before.
  • You do not have general hypermobility (very loose joints), osteoarthritis in the foot or ankle, rheumatoid arthritis, or other severe medical conditions.
  • You do not currently smoke, are not pregnant, and have no known drug or alcohol abuse.
