Who can take part
- You must be 18 or older
- You need mitral valve surgery for a leaking valve caused by wear and tear (degenerative disease)
- You must have a condition called arrhythmogenic mitral valve prolapse or be a control without it
- You cannot have other serious heart valve disease, heart muscle disease, or uncontrolled irregular heartbeats
- You must be able to have a heart MRI
