Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for a major lung resection (removing a large part of your lung).
  • Your surgery will be done through a large incision between the ribs (posterolateral thoracotomy) or with robotic-assisted small cuts (RATS).
  • Your surgery is NOT an 'extended' resection (meaning it does not remove extra structures like the chest wall or diaphragm).
