Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with a rectal neuroendocrine tumor (either low- or high-grade) by biopsy.
- Your tumor is larger than 2 cm, or is 1-2 cm and has reached a certain depth (stage T2 or higher) or is a higher-grade (grade 3), or it came back after a previous endoscopic removal.
- You are well enough to have surgery (performance status 0 or 1 on the ECOG scale, meaning you can carry out daily activities without assistance).
- You do not have a complete bowel blockage, active hepatitis, nerve damage, major heart problems (like a recent heart attack), active infection, or a bleeding disorder.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you do not have a history of alcohol or drug abuse.
