Who can take part
- You are between 19 and 45 years old.
- You are between 37 and 41 weeks pregnant.
- You have type 2 diabetes or gestational diabetes (or, for a healthy comparison group, no diabetes).
- You are not in labor and have not received oxytocin (a labor-inducing drug).
- You are scheduled for a planned first or second C-section under spinal anesthesia.
- You do not have conditions that raise bleeding risk like preeclampsia, twins, or a very large baby, unless these are related to your diabetes.
