Spinal cord stimulation for Parkinson's with painful bent spine

This study tests whether a spinal cord stimulator (a device that sends mild electrical pulses to the back) is safe and can reduce pain and improve the forward-bent posture in people with Parkinson's disease. Who can take part

  • You have Parkinson's disease.
  • You have a forward-bent posture (camptocormia) that has been present less than 2 years or worsened in the last year.
  • You have pain from this posture, with a rating of 4 or higher out of 10 in the last 3 months.
  • You do not have a heart pacemaker, brain pacemaker, or other implanted device.
  • You do not have major memory problems, severe depression, or uncontrolled diabetes.
  • You are willing to use effective contraception (if female and of childbearing age) and have a negative pregnancy test.
