Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have chronic back pain that has lasted at least 3 months and has been a problem on most days for the past 6 months.
  • You are in treatment for opioid use disorder (such as taking buprenorphine or methadone).
  • You have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder (like generalized anxiety, PTSD, or social anxiety).
  • You do not have metal implants or other reasons that would make an MRI unsafe.
  • You have not had back surgery, a head injury, seizures, or certain other health conditions.
