  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have high uric acid (measured in blood, typically above a certain level).
  • Your kidney function is stable, and you either have healthy kidneys or Stage 3a-4 chronic kidney disease (not on dialysis).
  • You have not had gout flares requiring treatment in the last month.
  • You can stop other urate-lowering medicines (like allopurinol) for the study.
  • You are not pregnant or planning pregnancy, and you use effective birth control.
