Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older
  • You have sickle cell disease, thalassemia, or another inherited red blood cell disorder
  • Your disease is stable (not in crisis) or you have had a bone marrow transplant
  • You have not taken biotin supplements or eaten raw eggs in the last 30 days
  • You have not had a red blood cell transfusion in the last 3 months
  • If you are a woman who can become pregnant, you agree to use birth control for the study
