CPAP treatment for severe uncontrolled asthma with sleep apnea

This trial tests if CPAP (a mask that helps you breathe at night) can improve asthma control in people who have both severe uncontrolled asthma and sleep apnea (a condition where breathing stops and starts during sleep). You should not have been hospitalized for asthma in the last month.

Who can take part

  • You are over 18 years old.
  • You have severe asthma that is not well controlled.
  • You have sleep apnea with at least 15 breathing pauses per hour of sleep.
  • You are not very sleepy during the day (score of 10 or less on the Epworth sleepiness scale).
  • You have not used CPAP before.
  • You are not a current smoker.
