  • You are between 18 and 60 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with fatty liver (steatosis) by ultrasound or a liver stiffness test
  • You may or may not have metabolic syndrome conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have not taken antibiotics in the last month
  • You do not drink more than a small amount of alcohol daily (more than 1 drink for women or 2 for men)
