Who can take part
- You have had a type of heart attack called STEMI, where a major artery is completely blocked.
- You are scheduled for or have just had emergency angioplasty to open the blocked artery.
- You are not in cardiogenic shock (very low blood pressure).
- You do not have a non-heart disease that limits your life expectancy to less than 1 year.
- You are not allergic to aspirin, ticagrelor, prasugrel, clopidogrel, paclitaxel, or sirolimus.
- You have not had a prior coronary bypass surgery, chronic total blockages, or other complex heart conditions as listed.
