Can a new EEG test predict if epilepsy meds will work?

This study looks at whether a special EEG test (BioEP) can help doctors know early on if anti-seizure medication will work for you. It is for adults who have just been diagnosed with epilepsy and are starting medication for the first time.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and have had your first suspected seizure.
  • You have been diagnosed with epilepsy and decided to start anti-seizure medication.
  • You had an EEG test before starting the medication.
  • If you were under 'watchful waiting' (no meds yet), you can join if you come back for an epilepsy diagnosis after a second seizure or a positive EEG, as long as you had an EEG in the last 12 months and haven't taken any seizure meds yet.
  • You are not taking anti-seizure medication for other conditions like migraines.
  • You are not currently in a trial of an investigational drug.
