EEG test to help diagnose epilepsy after a first seizure

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and had your first seizure (or suspected seizure) recently
  • You can understand and agree to take part in the study
  • Your doctor decided you need an EEG test based on your medical history and description of the seizure
  • Your EEG results did not show any clear signs of epilepsy (like abnormal brain waves)
  • You do not have liver or kidney failure affecting your brain
  • You have not been diagnosed with another clear cause for your episode, such as fainting from a drop in blood pressure
