Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old
- This is your first stroke and it affected small blood vessels in your brain
- You were not given a clot-busting drug (called rt-PA) for this stroke
- Your symptoms did not go away quickly before imaging tests were done
- You do not have a history of bleeding problems, active stomach ulcers, or recent major surgery
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you do not take certain interacting medications
