Who can take part

  • You must be a woman 18 years or older with triple-negative breast cancer that has come back or spread, and your latest cancer biopsy must show it is androgen receptor (AR)-positive (at least 1% of cells).
  • You must have had at least one prior chemotherapy for advanced cancer, unless your doctor says it's not safe for you.
  • You cannot have had prior treatment with abemaciclib or anti-androgen drugs like bicalutamide, abiraterone, or enzalutamide.
  • If you have had a CDK4/6 inhibitor like palbociclib or ribociclib, it must be at least 6 months since your last dose.
  • You must be able to swallow pills, have good organ function (kidney, liver, blood counts), and no serious heart or lung conditions.
