Obstructive Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older.
  • You have a type of heart muscle thickening (obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) that causes a blockage, and your doctor has measured a pressure gradient of at least 50 mmHg across your heart valve.
  • You have significant symptoms like fatigue, shortness of breath, chest pain, or fainting, and standard medicines haven't worked well or have caused side effects.
  • Your heart failure limits your daily activities (NYHA class II with certain complications, or class III/IV), and you are considered high-risk for open-heart surgery or you have chosen to avoid surgery after learning about the risks.
  • You are expected to live more than 12 months and can follow the study schedule.
