Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have a type of thickened heart muscle that blocks blood flow (obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy).
  • You have symptoms like shortness of breath, chest pain, or fatigue that affect your daily life.
  • Your heart blockage is at least 50 mmHg (a measure of pressure) and you are in New York Heart Association class II or higher.
  • The thickened part of your heart is at least 15 mm thick.
  • You are not eligible for or you choose not to have heart surgery to fix the blockage.
